iPhone 15 Pro Review

iPhone 15 Pro has been reviewed as a top contender in the smaller phone category, boasting a more manageable size without compromising on the high-end features that users have come to expect from Apple’s Pro series.

The phone’s design has shifted from stainless steel to titanium sides, making it lighter by 19g, which is a noticeable change for those upgrading from older models.

It’s easy to handle and fits comfortably in pockets. The 6.1-inch OLED screen is exceptional, offering a peak brightness of 2,000 nits for clear outdoor viewing, and the Face ID system remains a standout feature for Apple.

A new addition is the action button, which replaces the traditional mute switch, allowing users to launch apps or tasks quickly.

The phone’s specifications include a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR (OLED) screen, Apple A17 Pro chip, 8GB RAM, and storage options ranging from 128GB to 1TB. It also supports 5G, Wi-Fi 6E, NFC, Bluetooth 5.3, and has a USB-C port.

The switch to USB-C is significant, as it allows for compatibility with a wide range of chargers and accessories, moving away from the need for Apple-specific cables. The A17 Pro chip is noted for its speed and advanced graphics capabilities, promising longevity in performance.

Battery life is impressive for the phone’s size, with approximately 38 hours between charges under typical use. Even on heavy usage days, the battery life is robust, lasting about 28 hours.

Sustainability efforts include a battery designed to retain 80% capacity after 500 charge cycles, and the phone incorporates recycled materials. Apple also offers trade-in and recycling schemes.

The camera system is similar to the Pro Max model, with the main difference being the 3x optical zoom compared to the Pro Max’s 5x zoom. The main camera offers 24-megapixel photos and various focal lengths for photography enthusiasts. The ultrawide, main, and telephoto cameras deliver excellent images with minimal effort.

In terms of price, the iPhone 15 Pro is positioned competitively against other high-end phones like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and Google Pixel 7 Pro.

The verdict is that the iPhone 15 Pro is an excellent choice for those seeking a smaller, high-performance phone. While it may not have the best camera available on an iPhone due to the lack of a 5x optical zoom, it offers a lighter, more comfortable design, the convenience of USB-C, and a significant price saving compared to the Pro Max model.

Pros include its lighter design, great cameras, fantastic screen, USB-C port, and good battery life. The cons are its high price and the limited 3x optical zoom.
