Apple’s upcoming iPhone 16 series might bring an exciting feature – the Action button – to all its models.
This button first appeared on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, and it looks like Apple plans to extend it to the entire iPhone 16 range, including the base model.
The Action button is a customizable feature that replaces the traditional mute button on previous iPhone models. You can set it to perform various actions, like muting your phone, from a list of options.
What’s interesting about the Action button on the iPhone 16 is that it might be different from the one on the iPhone 15. Instead of being mechanical, it could be a capacitive-type button.
This means it would use a force sensor with a “tact-switching functionality,” making it more responsive to touch.
Another change might be in the button’s size. The new Action button is expected to be larger, resembling the volume rocker more than the mute button.
